Homework Monday 3 June

What a great day everyone!

All the best to Blake Rowe for his regional cross country carnival competition tomorrow.

Religion:

Interview a family member and ask them about how life was different when they were growing up. More specifically, how do you think the Catholic Church and Catholic education has changed over the years.

Record your information in your homework books. It will be interesting to discuss their responses in class.

Maths:

In class, we learnt about the Power of 10. Explain to someone in your family what this all about. Remember to show them which is the base and the exponent :)

English:

We are learning how to contribute to a discussion (groups /class).

Who better to watch than Andrew Denton! Click and view his interview with amputee Priscilla Sutton. She will talk about her life and her spare parts, her art exhibit involving prosthetic limbs.

Observe how Mr Denton keeps the conversion going, his tone, eye contact and body language. What strategies does he use to engage in the discussion? Pausing? clarifying questions? rephrasing? summarising? What did you learn about watching Andrew?

Be prepared to share these observations in class tomorrow
