Short answer questions: Using your knowledge from the video of constructing a kup-murri.


  • How are reversible changes that are occurring in the kup-murri used to cook food?

  • Explain why Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cover food with leaves and sprinkle it with water before they cover these pit ovens?

  • Explain how steaming, as a cooking method, is different to boiling.

  • Explain why Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cover the pit oven with the earth. 

3. Write a paragraph sharing your story about the clap sticks to designed today.
